PicSafe is a collection of free, browser-based image privacy tools. Our mission is to help people protect their privacy when sharing photos online.
Every photo you take with a digital camera or smartphone contains hidden metadata (EXIF data) that can reveal sensitive information like your GPS location, device details, and timestamps. Most people are unaware of this data when they share photos on social media, forums, or messaging apps.
PicSafe makes it easy to view and remove this hidden data before sharing your photos.
PicSafe is built with vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We use the Canvas API for image processing and pure JavaScript for EXIF parsing. No server-side processing is involved.
PicSafe is developed and maintained by Star-Scar Tools, a collection of free online utilities.
